The Department of Media Studies of the College of Arts and Sciences conducted a one day conference for fourth year high school students from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Among the participating schools were Trinity University of Asia, Manuel A. Roxas High School, and Eulogio Rodriguez, Jr. High School. Faculty members of the Department of Media Studies were speakers of the conference.
WILLIAM ESPINOSA, a former journalist for Philippine Star and Manila Standard before joining the Corporate Image Dimensions, a Public Relations Company as a Senior Creative Writer and Media Relations Officer talked on CAREER OPPORTUNITIES IN WRITING;
GINO RAZON, who has first-hand film making experiences in some of the leading film production outfits in the country, lectured on THE BASIC CONCEPTS IN UNDERSTANDING THE PHILIPPINE INDEPENDENT CINEMA;
ADONIS RUGERIA who produced video materials for the Consuelo Madrigal Foundation and the Philippine Federation for Environmental Concern furthered about MAPPING CAREER IN BROADCAST MEDIA;
WALTER YUDELMO, the Executive Director of the Asian Congress for Media and Communication, an international professional organization and the General Manager of West Orange Stakeholder Relations Company, a service learning public relations group lectured on PORNOGRAPHY AND VIOLENCE IN MASS MEDIA.
The students lauded the conference, which will be an annual activity of the college. The following were their qualitative comments:

Dean GISELIE AURORA MINA, Department Chair EVELYN AGATO, and Media and Documentation Services Coordinator DIVINO CANTAL, Jr. were pleased about the experimental project that aimed to market the Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Bachelor of Arts in Broadcasting courses as well as the other courses offered the university.
