Ms. Bea Sarah Luga bags the Trinitian of the Year Award (TrOY) in the recently concluded University Recognition conducted last April 15, at Wayland S. Mandell Auditorium. Together with Luga, the other honorees received their awards from various categories: Trinitian Leadership Awards, SAC Volunteer Service Awards, Outstanding Students from Athletics, Cultural and Performing arts Community Service Special Commendation for Students and Organizational Awards and Most Outstanding Faculty Adviser Awards.
Ms. Luga is a senior student of the College of Education, taking up her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education major in Pre-school education. She is currently the President of Organization of Future Teachers (OFT), the local student council organization of the College of Education. Luga also excels in Journalism being the immediate past Editor in Chief of the Trinity Observer – the official student publication of the university. Alongside with her exemplary performance in academics, she is also an active student volunteer for the Community Outreach for Pre-school Education (COPE) program of their college, mentoring pre-school children from the partner communities in Brgy. Tatalon and Brgy. Damayang Lagi.
Luga’s TrOY award was conferred by Dr. Josefina S. Sumaya, the University President. In her acceptance speech, she thanked and dedicated the award to her parents. Luga bested six other nominees from other colleges – Ms. Michelle Joyce M. Aytona (CAS); Mr. Vincent Lorenz Palor (CBA); Ms. April Camille Mariano (CCIS); Ms. Rochelle Mari Lao (CHTM); Mr. Kristoffer Rene Macapagal (CMT) and Ms. Hanna Arcilla(SLCN).
