SALUBONG 2015 highlighted the start of the school year 2015 – 2016 with a BLAST! The program started with the opening service for the new academic year, presided by the University Chaplain Edwin Ayabo and concelebrated by Padi Juliet Taclobao and Rev. Fr. Janagap, held last August 6, 2015 at the university gymnasium.
During the homily, the University President, Dr. Josefina S. Sumaya shared with everyone with a very inspiring message of hope and optimism as higher education institutions, including TUA, face challenges because of the impact of K-12 implementation. Dr. Tiu, the executive Vice President, on the other hand, emphasized the value of Faith and trust to the Lord, as he encouraged everyone to have faith and search for the true purpose of their lives.
After the opening service, a loud drum beating facilitated the entry of the college flags. Each college was introduced by their respective deans amidst the loud roar of their college chants and cheer. The program was hosted by the CSC president, Corina Tolentino and Prof. Caleb Coniate.
The welcome program introduced the freshmen and transferees to different university mandated organizations, the Central Student Council, Trinity Observer Editorial Board and Stallion Varsity Players and Foot Ball Stallions Club. The program was coupled with special performances from the Trinity dance troupe, TUA Chorale, and the TUA Brass Band. The whole student body was introduced to the university yell taught by Ms. Emy Arboleda, Faculty from the Department of Human Kinetics. The program ended in the introduction of the TUA Dance facilitated by Ms. Hazel Arce, faculty adviser/ choreographer of the TUA Dance Troupe.
