Select academic programs of Trinity University of Asia – Graduate School and College of Hospitality and Tourism Management underwent accreditation resurvey visit from the Association of Christian Schools Colleges and Universities– Accrediting Agency Incorporated (ACSCU-AAI) last March 28 – April 2, 2016.
The resurvey visit evaluated the Master of Arts in Education (MAEd), Master in Management (MM), and Master of Arts in Nursing (MAN) programs of the Graduate School and the Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management (BS HRM) and Bachelor of Science in Tourism (BST).
The accreditors were welcomed to TUA by Dr. Benjamin C. Dayrit (Graduate School Dean and Acting VP for Academic Affairs) and Prof. Milanel Rivera (Dean of CHTM). The accreditation team, led by Dr. Pilar Ruby C. Buenaventura (Over-all Chairman) (UCC), Dr. Maridel V. Eslao (WUP), Dr. Grace Ann S. Saban (AUP), Dr. Lualhati P. Sausa (AUP), Dr. Edna O. Imperial (PCU), Dr. Revelino D. Garcia (PCU) Prof. Evelyn R. Cucio (GdJC), and Prof. Liza E. Arcilla (WUP).
The resurvey visit looked into the continuing efforts of the university at maintaining quality and excellence above and beyond the minimum requirements set by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in the different programs. The visit included the verification of the status on the compliance of the Graduate School and CHTM to the recommendations made by the previous survey team in the following areas: goals and objectives; faculty; curriculum and instruction; students; library; resources; social orientation and community involvement; and administration and organization.
The site visit included interviews, class observations, document reviews and visits to the community extension partners in Brgy Damayang Lagi in QC and Industrial Valley Complex in Marikina.
The results and team recommendations will be forwarded by the ACSCU –AAI to the Federation of Accrediting Agencies in the Philippines (FAAP) for review and confirmation. The Administrators and faculty members expressed confidence in the success of the accreditation resurvey visit when the results are announced in May 2016 at the ACSCU AAI convention. (Dr. Marlon J.
