Philippine Association of Tertiary Level Educational Institutions in Environmental Protection and Management (PATLEPAM)

The Philippine Association of Tertiary Level Educational Institutions in Environmental Protection and Management (PATLEPAM) in cooperation with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB) held their Annual National Educator’s Assembly on October 20, 2022 via Zoom.

Representing the Trinity University of Asia were faculty members and non-teaching personnel from various units including Dr. Maria  Cecillia Ycong, Dr. Marissa Borines, Prof. Daisy Sucaldito from the College of Arts, Sciences and Education, Prof. Virginia Fernandez from Trinity High School, Ms. Johanna Rachelle Tuazon from the University Research and Development Center, and Ms. Angel Aquino from the Trinitian Center for Community Development.

Dr. Maria Victoria Espaldon and Mr. Mahesh Pradhan, renowned experts in the areas of environmental education and management shared the significance of integration of climate change discourse in the academic curricula as well as the promotion of environmentally sustainable campuses.

The webinar provided insights on how sustainability can be advocated in educational institutions through introduction of conservation practices (i.e. banning of single use plastics, use of re-usable items, among others inside the campus) and the support of the university administrators in the  creation of policies  on environmental sustainability.
