Trinity University of Asia holds Press Conference on the Colegio de San Lorenzo Transferees

Academic unit heads led by VP for Academic Affairs Dr. Howell Ho held a press conference on Friday, 2 September, on Trinity University of Asia (TUA) engagements related to the accommodation of student transferees from the Colegio de San Lorenzo (CDSL), which abruptly closed last month.

College of Arts, Sciences, and Education (CASE) OIC Dr. Teresita Capacete, College of Business, Management, and Accountancy (CBMA) Dean Dr. Maria Victoria Rosas, College of Engineering and Information Sciences (CEIS) Dean Dr. Ferdinand Bunag, College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM) Dean Dr. Fernando Trinidad III, and Office of Admission and Registration (OAR) OIC Alejandro Vinalay were one with VP Ho in indicating to reporters that while TUA was shocked in hearing the closure of CDSL, it quickly thought of ways to extend help to displaced students. VP Ho stated that TUA adjusted, within boundaries as an autonomous educational institution, its academic requirements to accommodate CDSL students and its payment schemes to go the extra mile in helping the said students who may already have exhausted their resources in enrolling in CDSL for the first semester of SY 2022-23.

To assist CDSL students adapt in their new academic community, programs such as “Kwentuhan at Katuwaan sa Bagong TUAhanan” held by the TUA Peer Facilitators and the Trinitian Guidance and Career Center (TGCC) in partnership with the Student Affairs Center (SAC) have been scheduled.

Alumni, Industry Relations, and Global Education Office (AIRGEO) Manager Caleb Donne Coniate moderated the said press conference.
