Trinity University of Asia Library
The Library is the heart of any institutions. It is one of the major components of Trinity University of Asia, a Christian institution of higher learning. The Library goals and functions are closely identified with the purposes of the University to contribute to the growth and dissimination of knowledge and make its services contribute as effectively as possible to the instructional program of the university.
VISION
Trinity Univertsity of Asia Library shall be among the leading academic libraries as information resource center and to be a dynamic partner in the university’s vision to transform a community of learners as leaders towards a humane society.
MISSION
Trinity University of Asia Library supports the academic programs through instruction , collections, technology and services which enable students and faculty to access recorded knowledge and information resources. This support empowers our constituencies to develop the information and technological competencies necessary to achieve their educational, research and professional goals; succeed in the workforce; apply lifelong learning skills; and participate in a diverse society.
- To build and update relevant information resources appropriate to each college disciplines along needed instruction and support.
- To provide access to information through standardized and systematic methods of storage and retrieval.
- To provide updated equipment and modern facilities conducive to learning and research.
- To send 100% of the library staff to library /librarianship related conference workshop opportunities to enhance staff competencies every school year.
- To obtain a semestral rating of at least 4.45 in the Customer Satisfaction Survey.
Technical Services
- Acquisition – To acquire print and non-print materials in line with the demands of the curriculum and the needs of the students and faculty and to organize these materials for effective use. Acquisition depends upon the availability of materials as recommended by the faculty.
- Classification and Cataloging – books acquired by Trinity University of Asia Library are classified according to Library of Congress, Dewey Decimal Classification, Filipiniana and Rizaliana Scheme and using AACR2R cataloging.
- Mechanical Processess – as the books/materials had been acquired, there are important steps to be followed:
– Collating
– Stamping
– Accessioning
– Labeling - Encoding all informations’ describing the nature of library collections for On Line Public Access Catalog.
