Our Bachelor of Science in Biology program is dedicated to fostering a deep understanding of life sciences and equipping students with practical skills to excel in this dynamic field. Discover the exciting journey that awaits you in our BS Biology course below!

What is a BS Biology Course?

BS Biology is a four-year program designed to equip students with in-depth knowledge and practical skills in life sciences. The curriculum includes core subjects like botany, zoology, genetics, and ecology, as well as specialized courses in microbiology. Students also study chemistry, biochemistry, statistics, and other related disciplines. The program emphasizes hands-on training through practicum and research projects, culminating in a thesis defense. Graduates have the option to become registered microbiologists or pursue advanced degrees in research or medicine.

The Head of the Program

Mr. Emerson G. Cruz

A passionate learner and educator. He is a graduate of BS Biology at Centro Escolar University. After being exposed to research activities during his undergraduate studies, he pursued Microbiology at the University of Santo Tomas. At the same time, he worked as a research assistant while studying. After graduation he worked at a veterinary clinic as a laboratory analyst. In 2019, he passed the Registered Microbiologist examination. Currently he is the national representative for Veterinary Microbiology at the Philippine Society for Microbiology. Today, he is an assistant professor and the department head of the TUA-CASE Biology department. His research interests include industrial application of microbes and mass production of cells using a bioreactor.
