High Heat Index and Student Support Measures
In response to the recent concerns regarding the high heat index, we want to reassure both parents and students that Trinity University of Asia (TUA) is deeply committed to ensuring your safety, comfort, and well-being during these challenging times.
To provide a comfortable environment for our students, we have implemented the following measures:
- Casual Dress Code. We provide flexibility for students to wear comfortable attire suitable for the summer months instead of the regular uniform.
- Comfortable Air Conditioned Classrooms. Students are welcome to utilize these air conditioned spaces to stay indoors, study, or simply hang out with friends while waiting to go home.
- Extended Library Hours. The library hours have been extended until 6:00 pm to accommodate students who wish to stay and study in a cool and conducive environment while waiting for the heat to subside.
- Extended Hours for Air Conditioned Canteen. Additionally, our air conditioned canteen is open from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. This provides our students with a comfortable and cool space where they can enjoy their meals.
- Adjusted PE Class Schedule. To minimize exposure to the heat, we have reduced the duration of PE classes. This adjustment ensures that students can maintain their health and well-being without prolonged exposure to high temperatures.
- Drinking Fountains Dispensing Cold Water. To help you stay hydrated and refreshed, drinking fountains around the campus dispense cold water. Please make use of these facilities to stay cool and hydrated throughout the day.
- Emergency Preparedness. In the event of brownouts, our generator sets are fully equipped to power the air conditioners and elevators to ensure uninterrupted operations and minimize any disruptions.
- Continuous Monitoring and Support. Our deans and administrators are dedicated to continuously monitoring the situation and are readily available to address any concerns or emergencies that may arise.
For Trinity High School (THS) students, transportation will be provided to transfer them to the main campus in case of brownouts. They will be accommodated in air conditioned facilities such as Mandell Hall Auditorium and Sinulog Lounge, Audio-Visual Rooms (AVR), and available classrooms.
As we approach the end of the semester, we understand the importance of culminating activities such as final examinations, project presentations, and thesis defenses, which require your presence onsite. We assure you that we are continuously monitoring the situation and taking proactive measures to address any concerns.
