TUA Strengthens International Linkages at Taiwan Day Celebration

Trinity University of Asia (TUA), represented by Alumni, Industry Relations, and Global Education Office (AIRGEO) Manager Caleb Donne E. Coniate and TriLink Officer Dr. Fernando V. Trinidad III, joined the 114th Taiwan Day Celebration held at the Grand Hyatt in Bonifacio Global City on October 9, 2025.

Hosted by Taiwan Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) Representative Wallace Minn-Gan Chow, the event brought together diplomats, business leaders, academics, and cultural figures to celebrate Taiwan’s  path toward deeper international engagement.

Interspersed with musical performances, a blend of classical, folk, and contemporary, the program also included promotional booths showcasing Taiwan’s trade, technology, tourism, and cultural initiatives.

One of the recurring themes of the night was internationalization. In Taiwan’s current strategy, this means both deepening partnerships abroad and bringing global talent, ideas, and exchange into the island. The celebration underscored how Taiwan sees itself not just as an East Asian democracy, but as a global node in technology, diplomacy, and cultural exchange.

TUA is in constant exchange and initiatives with Taiwan Education Center-Philippines (TEC-Phils.) and with academic institutions in Taiwan such as Chang Jung Christian University (CJCU), Kaohsiung Municipal San-min Senior High School (KMSSHS), National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism (NKUHT), and National Sun Yat-Sen University (NSYSU).

Also in attendance was former TUA President Dr. Wilfred U. Tiu, who has been instrumental in nurturing the University’s partnerships with Taiwanese institutions.
