UAS for Health Professions Upper Austria Programme Visit Explores Global Partnerships with TUA

On June 13, 2024, Trinity University of Asia (TUA) delegates, including Dr. Gisela D.A. Luna and Dr. John Michael O. Lorena, along with Mr. Matthias Hallerbach from C&C Human Resource Development, part of the Pro Civitate group of companies, and Ms. Theresa Glötzl from International Project Management participated in a Programme Visit to the University of Applied Sciences (UAS) for Health Professions Upper Austria. The visit included key figures such as Ms. Bettina Schneebauer, Managing Director of UAS; Dr. Silvia Öhlinger, Head of University Development and Research and Development; Ms. Heide Jackel, MBA, Head of Degree Programme Healthcare and Nursing; Ms. Tanja Reich, Project and Programme Coordination; and Mr. Erich Weiss, BScN, MSc, Academic Staff and International Coordinator Nursing at UAS.

The visit began with a welcome session, where both parties introduced themselves. UAS representatives, led by Ms. Schneebauer and Dr. Öhlinger, provided an overview of UAS’s strategic focus. Following this, Ms. Heide Jackel presented the internationalization strategy of UAS’s healthcare and nursing programs.

TUA delegates then introduced our institution and emphasized our commitment to healthcare education and international collaborations. Subsequently, both parties engaged in a joint working session to explore potential collaborations, including academic programs, research initiatives, and student exchanges.

The visit also included a networking lunch that allowed for informal discussions and further networking among the participants. Later in the day, TUA and UAS representatives met with Landesrat Dr. Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer, a member of the Provincial Government of Upper Austria. Brief statements were made that highlighted the significance of international collaborations in healthcare education.

Additionally, delegates toured Kepler University Hospital Med Campus and UAS Skills Rooms Med Campus and gained insights into advanced healthcare facilities and educational resources.

The Programme Visit was made possible through coordination with Mr. Matthias Hallerbach from C&C Human Resource Development. This was instrumental in fostering closer ties between TUA and UAS to pave the way for future collaborations in healthcare education and research.
