Celebrating Respiratory Care Week at TUA
The Respiratory Therapy Department of the College of Allied Health Sciences (CAHS) joins the celebration of International Respiratory Care Week, observed globally during the last week of October. This global celebration is dedicated to recognizing the invaluable contributions of respiratory therapists. From October 24-25, 2023, Trinity University of Asia’s CAHS showcased a series of dynamic Respiratory Care (RC) Booth Exhibits at the Health Sciences Center, each spotlighting the diverse skills and expertise of respiratory therapists. Let’s delve into the highlights of each booth.
Booth #1 Overview of BS Respiratory Therapy at TUA
Discovering why TUA is the top choice for your BSRT journey; Visitors were able to gain invaluable insights through a compelling video presentation featuring pre-recorded interviews with BS RT professors and students.
Booth #2 Pulmonary Rehabilitation
Witnessing the pivotal role Respiratory Therapists play in the diagnosis, treatment, management, and rehabilitation of patients with chronic pulmonary diseases; Conditions such as asthma, bronchitis, and emphysema were also discussed.
Booth #3 Spirometry and Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) Study
Offering guests a unique opportunity for FREE spirometry or lung function test; This diagnostic tool identifies lung diseases and helps assess lung health and function.
Booth #4 Sleep Disorders and Sleep Study
Learning about various sleep disorders including insomnia, restless leg syndrome, and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA); This highlights the role RTs lead in diagnosis and treatment in Sleep Study Labs.
Booth #5 Critical Care Medicine
Seeing how Respiratory Therapists play a crucial role in intensive care units (ICU); From managing life support machines, ventilators, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Booth #6 Book Launching of Dr. Tiburcio’s RT Books
Launching three (3) incredible RT books authored by the Head of the Respiratory Therapy Department, Dr. Noel Tiburcio; Guests had the chance to purchase these resources at a special discounted price.
As we reflect on this celebration, we are reminded of the commitment and dedication that define the field of respiratory care. This event not only honors the work of respiratory therapists but also serves as a reminder of their passion and purpose, which continues to inspire aspiring professionals in the field.
