Trinity University of Asia’s “Tagpuan” Selected for FILMARE National Film Festival 2024
The Media and Communication Department of the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education (CASE) proudly announces that “Tagpuan,” a film produced by students from the BA Communication and BA Broadcasting programs, has been chosen as an Official Selection in the FILMARE National Film Festival 2024. The film explores themes of love, friendship, acceptance, and social issues, portrayed by the talented cast led by Gayle Charito and Mikadhel Sagario. Trinity University of Asia is honored to be one of the top 5 Universities in the NCR Leg selected to compete in the first-ever FILMARE Film Festival 2024 inter-school filmmaking contest.
During a special ceremony held at the Lyman Ogilby Hall on May 4, 2024, Ms. Mare Yao, former ABS-CBN Broadcaster, and President and Chief Executive Officer of Stimula Productions Inc., presented the plaque that marked it as an official selection. The event was attended by faculty members and students of the Media and Communication Department.
“Tagpuan” is a collaborative effort, with Joanah Tabuzo and Xyrel Viovicente serving as producers, and the screenplay written by Wilson Castro and Zsairel Mejia. The film is directed by Marise Montano, with Princess Modanza as production manager, Aica Binoya as cinematographer, and Gilbert Porol as editor. The project was supervised by media and communication faculty member and industry practitioner, Ms. Yvonne Aquino.
The FILMARE National Film Festival 2024 will culminate in an awarding ceremony for the NCR leg on May 17, 2024, at the Philippine Trade Training Center, Pasay City. Winners will be recognized with cash prizes and products from sponsors such as JBL, Universal Robina, and SM Supermalls.
