TUA Welcomes New CBMA Dean, Dr. Maria Victoria Ulgado-Rosas

Dr. Maria Victoria Ulgado-Rosas is now the new Dean of the College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBMA), and she brings with her more than three decades of teaching, research, and managerial expertise in both undergraduate and graduate programs in business administration.

An outstanding graduate of AB Economics (Adamson University, 1983, Cum Laude), of MA Economics (University of Santo Tomas, 2001, Cum Laude) and of PhD Management (Adamson University, 2004, Magna Cum Laude), Dr. Rosas has been an educator since 1984. Ever a passionate Licensed Professional Teacher, she constantly has in her teaching assignment Economics, Finance, Research, Global Trade, Marketing, Feasibility Study, Strategic Management, Business Plan, and Management.

Dr. Rosas has a wide experience and deep understanding of leadership, having served as Dean of Letran Bataan in 2005, Dean of Letran Manila Graduate School of Business from 2005-2008, and concurrent Dean of Letran Manila College of Business Administration and Accountancy from 2005-2011. She was appointed Registrar of the Colegio from 2011 to 2015. She retired in 2018, leaving behind in the Colegio a 30-year legacy as an educator and school executive.

In 2018, Letran Calamba, a sister school of UST, appointed Dr. Rosas as Dean of the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management and Director of the Programs Services and Innovation Department. She served in the mentioned offices until 2020.

Committed to advancing her field of specialization, Dr. Rosas holds a Certificate in Management from the internationally-recognized Institute of Certified Management Consultants. She also holds the following local and international distinction:

  • 2014 AGORA Awardee for Marketing Education from the Philippine Marketing Association (PMA )
  • 2015 Regional Finalist (Tertiary) of Metrobank Foundation  Search for Ten Outstanding Teachers
  • 2016 Fellow in Royal Institute in Economics (FriEcon) of Singapore
  • 2017 Registered Business Educator from Junior Achievement Inc. (JA Inc Phils.)
  • 2017 Finalist for Security Bank Bravo Women of the Philippines
  • 2018 Presidential Leadership Award from Philippine Council of Deans and Educators in Business (PCDEB)
  • Consistent OUTSTANDING Professor of the Colegio de San Juan de Letran Manila (2017 to  2019)

Dubbed as one of the jewels in the marketing industry by the Philippine Marketing Association, Dr. Rosas illuminates dedication, inspiration, motivation, and commitment in all her works and endeavors. With all her contributions, and accomplishments, she has remained grounded and constantly eager to grow with others. She believes in the saying that, “if you love what you are doing, you will not notice the passage of time and you will not get weary of the tasks that you are performing. Instead, you enjoy and grow as a person and a practitioner in your field.”
