CHTM‘s Culinary Excellence Shines at CHED’s ASEAN Table

Trinity University of Asia’s (TUA) culinary talents shone at the ASEAN Table Freestyle Cooking Contest by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). Huge congratulations to TUA for securing the Gold in this prestigious event held at Enderun Colleges last August 26, 2023.

The exceptional performance was a testament to the dedication and artistry of the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management’s (CHTM) – Third Year BS Hospitality Management students – Ms. Rej Totanes, Mr. Mike Amiel Dealo, and Ms. Zacharie Yancy Geronimo. These young talents crafted a menu that not only tantalized the taste buds but also paid homage to the founding countries of ASEAN.

Under the expert guidance of their faculty coaches, Chef Tricia Espina and Chef Dick Franco, the TUA team wowed the judges and attendees with their culinary finesse. Their winning menu was a harmonious blend of flavors and traditions, showcasing the diversity and unity that define the ASEAN region.

The ASEAN Table Freestyle Cooking Contest was more than just a culinary competition; it was a celebration of ASEAN’s rich heritage, shared values, and unity. Trinity University of Asia’s victory symbolized the power of creativity and collaboration within the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM).

As the flavors of ASEAN continue to resonate, the CHED’s initiative to spotlight these culinary talents has undoubtedly enriched our understanding of the region’s vibrant diversity.
