TUA High School (TUA HS) and Kaohsiung Municipal Sanmin Senior High School (KMSSHS) virtually held first International Issues Discussion

TUA High School (TUA HS) and Kaohsiung Municipal Sanmin Senior High School (KMSSHS) virtually held this morning their first International Issues Discussion centering on two pressing concerns: “Propelling Urgent Action on Gender Equality in Schools” and “Marine Issues: from Kaohsiung to the World”.

Dr. Julius Somera, Principal of TUA High School, spearheaded the event which is one of the activities lined up to further strengthen the TUA HS and KMSSHS after the two institutions signed a Memorandum of Agreement in September. A virtual fellowship-meeting among TUA HS and KMSSHS staff and faculty was held on Tuesday, 26 October.

On the part of TUA, Dean of Students Homer Balmes and Trinitian Center for Community Development Director Caroline Balmes were invited to tackle the importance of a deeper understanding and appreciation of gender equality not only in the context of the academe but also in the realities of society.

Also present to assist in the event were Ms. May Anne Laciste (Manager) and staff of the Trinitian Center for Education and Technology (TCET) and Alumni, Industry Relations, and Global Education Office (AIRGEO) Manager Caleb Donne Coniate.
