TUA Now Offers CHED-Recognized Microcredentials for Flexible and Focused Learning

Education continues to evolve alongside the changing demands of work and professional growth. As roles expand and new skills emerge, learning approaches are also becoming more responsive and focused.

In response, Trinity University of Asia now offers Micro-Credentials through the Trinity International Lifelong Learning Academy (TILLA), under the Office of the Vice President for Sustainable Partnerships and Lifelong Learning (OVPSPLL).

These programs provide a more direct way to build relevant skills through shorter learning formats that support different stages of development.

What are Micro-Credentials?

Micro-Credentials are short, competency-based learning programs designed around specific skills aligned with current industry needs.

They emphasize application and defined outcomes. Programs are typically completed within weeks or months, so learners can use their learning soon after completion.

Some Micro-Credentials are stackable and can connect to broader academic pathways.

Supporting Learning in A Changing Environment

Learners engage with education based on their goals and responsibilities. Some continue from their current qualifications, while others prepare for new roles or build additional competencies alongside ongoing commitments.

Micro-Credentials address these needs through shorter durations and flexible formats suited to varying schedules. This makes it possible to pursue learning alongside work and other responsibilities.

Micro-Credentials at Trinity University of Asia

Micro-Credentials at TUA are delivered under the University’s recognition by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to offer Micro-Credentials, with alignment to national standards and quality expectations.

As one of the few private universities recognized to offer microcredentials, TUA provides expanded access to focused and flexible learning pathways.

These programs support career development and are open to students, professionals, and lifelong learners. Each offering is structured around defined outcomes that connect to practical use.

Selected programs are available as for-credit Micro-Credentials, with completed courses contributing toward degree pathways within the University.

A Pathway for Continuous Development

Micro-Credentials form part of a broader approach to lifelong learning. They support the development of specific competencies within a shorter timeframe and enable learners to build qualifications over time.

This structure supports steady progression, where short-term learning connects with longer-term academic or professional goals. At TUA, these programs are developed with attention to relevance and progression across learning pathways.

Moving Forward through Learning

Learning continues across different stages of life and work. Micro-Credentials provide a structured and flexible option for those who want to keep developing their skills in a focused way.

Through these programs, Trinity University of Asia expands its learning offerings to better match changing needs in education and work.
