CHTM, AIRGEO, and TGCC Prep BSTM and BSHM Students for Exciting Practicum Experience
The College of Hotel and Tourism Management (CHTM), in partnership with the Alumni, Industry Relations, and Global Education Office (AIRGEO) and the Trinitian Guidance and Career Center (TGCC), held this semester’s Practicum Orientation Program for BS Tourism Management and BS Hospitality Management students today, 9am-12nn, at the Sinulog Lounge of the Mary Alston Hall. The event was themed “Meeting the Industry, Preparing for the World of Work”.
The participants, all in corporate attire and ready with copies of their resumes, listened to representatives from The Oriental Hotels and Resorts, 2Go Group, and The Philippine Transmarine Carriers, Inc. tackle the many learning opportunities and future professional growth these companies continue to offer to practicumers and to employees. The various demands and expectations in the worksite were also laid down for the students to consider.
“We are delighted to have a full house today, everyone was present. Our students had been looking forward to this meeting as they are now thinking about not only their practicum requirements but also the possibilities after graduation in June,” said Assoc. Prof. Julius Flores, Chair of the BS Tourism program.
