Immunology of COVID-19: Infection and Immunity
The 2nd Graduate School-College of Medical Technology Webinar last April 8, 2021 was another milestone for both departments.
It was attended by medical technologists and allied health professionals across the globe.
Dr. Gaerlan D. Inciong discussed the variants of SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19 infection while the efficacy of various vaccines and a preliminary report on the effectiveness of COVID-19 mRNA vaccine were shared by Rex F. Famitangco and Fergielynd Andres. Mr. Famitangco and Ms Andres are both based in the USA and currently working at Morrill County Community Hospital.
The presence of Dr. Raymundo W. Lo, a recognized Immunopathologist in the Philippines, heightened the discussion on the relevance of vaccination, SARS-CoV-2 testing, and immunity. Several questions and clarifications were posted during the zoom registration and those were answered by Dr. Lo, the resource speakers, and Asst. Prof. Joy P. Calayo.
This “triple i” webinar can still be viewed through the Trinity Talk: Online Panel Discussion FB Page. Atty. Jean Joan D. Polido, MD was the moderator.
The Deans of the Medical Technology schools and the PASMETH President also participated.
