College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM) Hosts Seminar Workshop on Filipino Brand of Service Excellence

The Department of Tourism (DOT) and Trinity University of Asia’s College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM) collaborated to organize a remarkable seminar workshop titled “Filipino Brand of Service Excellence.” The event was held on May 29, 2023, at the Mandell Hall Auditorium from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The seminar workshop aimed to equip tourism and hospitality professionals with a unique and excellent way of delivering customer service, firmly grounded in Filipino values. By embracing the rich cultural heritage of the country, the organizers sought to elevate the tourism industry’s standards and provide visitors with an unparalleled hospitality experience.

The opening message was delivered by Ms. Sharlene Zabala-Batin, the esteemed Regional Director of DOT-National Capital Region (NCR), who welcomed participants with warmth and enthusiasm. Her inspiring words set the tone for the rest of the day, emphasizing the importance of embracing Filipino values in providing exceptional service.

Participants got the chance to take part in breakout sessions during the event that were led by experienced Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE) trainers. Dr. Freddie Quinto presided over the morning session, and Ms. Maria Susana Edilo over the afternoon one. Participants were able to simulate real-world situations and hone their customer service abilities through these interactive seminars. The training aims to equip professionals with the skills they need to provide outstanding customer service by immersing them in practical activities.

The success of the seminar workshop would not have been possible without the hard work of the organizers, trainers, and participants. Their collective efforts demonstrated a shared vision of enhancing the tourism experience in the country and upholding the values that make Filipino hospitality truly exceptional.
