The search was held last 15th of February 2020 at the Mini-Auditorium, 9th Floor Technology Building of Far Eastern University Manila Campus.
The national search with a theme, “Think Globally, Act Locally” is an opportunity for the participants to deliver a five minute speech. The winner will represent the Philippines in London on May 11 to 15, 2020. The competition has a discursive platform for multicultural understanding and freedom of expression using the English language. Also, participation of the Philippine contestant in London has been generously subsidized by the English Speaking Union Philippines’ sponsors.
The national search is inarguably the most prestigious in the country as it has produced three world champions, namely, Patricia Evangelista (2004) of University of the Philippines Diliman, Gian Dapul (2008) of the Philippine Science High School, and Jazmin Jabines (2018) of University of the Philippines Diliman.
