TUA-St. Luke’s College of Nursing Opens its New Geriatric Simulation Laboratory

St. Luke’s College of Nursing (SLCN) in collaboration with Pro Civitate, a company that provides Geriatric facilities in Germany, opened the first Geriatric Simulation laboratory in the Philippines.
The establishment of the laboratory, located at the fourth floor of the Health Sciences Center (HSC) Building, is aimed towards the University’s goal of internationalization.
The design of the laboratory is inspired by the geriatric facilities in Germany promoting an international approach in enhancing nursing students’ competency in geriatric care.
Dr. Enrique A. Tayag, director of Knowledge Management and Infrastructure Technology Service and spokesperson of the Department of Health (DOH), expressed his intentions to collaborate with SLCN and expand this project to other areas in the country.
Prominent figures in attendance were Mr. Wolfgang Schutze, President of Pro Civitate GmbH, Dr. Wilfred U. Tiu, VPAA Dr. Gisella DA. Luna, and Dr. Carmelita Divinagracia, member of the Board of Nursing.
Also present during the event were the associates of Pro Civitate, Deans from the sister colleges of SLCN, St. Luke’s Medical Center associates and the faculty and students of SLCN.
