A Special Embassy Session: Rethinking Tourism for Germany

In line with the strengthening of the internationalization program of the College of Hospitality and Tourism, the 3rd year BS Tourism Management students mentored by Assistant Professor Ma. Teresita C. Bautista, recently held the regular international interaction program with embassies entitled “A Special Embassy Session: Rethinking Tourism for Germany”. This time the featured country is the Federal Republic of Germany with Mr. Kai Tomzig, the Head of the Cultural Department at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Manila as the keynote speaker. Mr. Tomzig shared a brief history of Germany, highlighted the different places of interest found in their country, shared their famous cuisines and beverages and the challenges faced by the country in the field of tourism and sustainability. The event was held at the Mandell Hall auditorium inside the TUA campus on June 11, 2022. The German delegation were warmly welcomed by the students, staff and faculty of CHTM led by their Dean, Dr. Fernando V. Trinidad, III and honored by the presence of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Howell T. Ho. In this event, the students also get to learn not only the culture and competitiveness of the underscored nations, our learners also get to have a glimpse of what lies ahead if they go and visit these countries.
